This project emerged from an inquiry into the life and disappearance of a female artist who withdrew from the art field. By tracing her absence and inscribing it within the exhibition, the work confronts how erasurewhether through systemic barriers, social expectations, or personal circumstances shapes cultural memory. Presented in the Ghost Archive exhibition, it reframed absence not as silence but as a form of presence, compelling viewers to recognize the structural conditions that cause women’s contributions to vanish. The piece highlights how participation is always fragile, contingent on forces beyond the artist’s control, and how what is lost continues to haunt the cultural record.
